Kayla A. Leever

Kayla Leever, J.D. began her practice as an attorney at Calvert & Associates in 2008.  In 2009, however, she and her husband were stationed in Colorado Springs, where he served as an Army Captain. Ms. Leever subsequently gained admittance to the Colorado Bar in 2009.  

While in Colorado, Ms. Leever continued to practice law, specifically in the areas of defense of personal injury, bad faith, premises liability, construction defect litigation, and subrogation matters.  In June of 2012, Ms. Leever and her family of three relocated back to Houston, at which time she returned to Calvert & Associates.  

Ms. Leever's practice areas include health care liability defense and representing health care providers before the Texas Medical Board, Texas Board of Nursing, Texas Board of Dental Examiners, and in credentialing matters.

Ms. Leever is married and has three sons.

Education & Experience

Ms. Leever graduated magna cum laude from Baylor University in 2005 with a B.A. in Political Science.  Her passion for law began when she served as the president of the pre-law fraternity, Phi Alpha Delta, at Baylor University.  Ms. Leever graduated with a law degree from the University of Houston Law Center in 2008.  During her time at UH, she was a member of the Moot Court team, and was a qualifying participant in the American Bar Association Negotiation Competition.  She also served as the Business Development Chair of the Houston Journal of Health Law & Policy, where she was responsible for organizing fundraising functions and banquets honoring distinguished members.
